Solid phase synthesis is done manually, peptides are cleaved using the appropriate chemistry for the resin chosen (i.e. HBr/TFA for BOC chemistry and TFA/cocktail for FMOC chemistry) and purified using HPLC’s. Each peptide is supplied with an HPLC chromatogram and a mass spec. for verification of purity. DFC specializes in custom synthesis requiring specialty chemistries, long and difficult sequences, peptidomimetics, and incorporation of unusual amino acids. Peptide orders will be quoted individually and cost will depend on purity, sequence length and any other specialty chemistry as required. A 10-residue peptide at 10-20 mg, without any special requirements and 95% purity, will cost typically $600 U.S. DFC also has the resources to synthesize, protect and resolve unusual amino acids and incorporate them into peptide sequences.
